Meet at Vienna's 'Wien Mitte' railway station at 09:00 (Apr–Oct) or 09:30 (Nov–Mar). After introductions, board a train southward to the Vienna Woods, about 30 minutes away.
Summer: Begin in Baden, a historic spa town loved by Beethoven. Walk through the village and parks before hiking forest trails to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Vienna basin and Wienerwald. Then, wander through lush vineyards and enjoy an open-air wine tasting among the vines. Winter: Visit one of Austria’s oldest wine institutions in the Thermal Region, learn about the region’s wine history, and taste wines at a historic winery.
Both seasons: Head to Gumpoldskirchen, a charming wine village, for lunch at a traditional Austrian tavern. The highlight is an afternoon wine tasting at a top local winery, led by a vintner, offering insights into wine production and regional challenges. The tour concludes with a train ride back to Vienna, leaving plenty of time for evening plans.
